It didn’t help that Arno doesn’t bring any distinctive new Assassin abilities to the table, making combat the same parry-heavy scenarios as in previous games. (What’s more, the fact that everyone in Unity - including Napoleon Bonaparte himself - speaks with an English accent is completely inexplicable and immersion-breaking.) I never really found a reason to care about his Forrest Gump-style quest through the French Revolution, and an unfulfilling ending definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. Arno is a one-dimensional character whose motivation is little more than the standard revenge tale. Getting back on the story track, I found that Unity’s main Assassins-versus-Templars plot is relatively forgettable, and has none of the fun and levity of last year’s Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Navigating between pieces of cover is finicky, and it was never clear whether or not I was even hidden. It was also particularly frustrating in stealth sections, which Unity emphasizes heavily. I found myself quickly losing momentum and clumsily hopping about whenever I tried to enter a window and explore any of Unity’s huge array of interior spaces. The key phrase there was “when it all worked,” because the series-long frustration of your assassin not doing quite what you want him to do is still present here. When it all worked perfectly, guiding my Arno up, down, and across the Parisian skyline brought me a great sense of satisfaction. ![]() (Unless there was a haystack handy, I usually just lept off and hoped that I had enough health to survive.) Most of the time, traversal in Unity feels better than ever thanks to fantastic animations, buildings with plenty of climbable paths, and a new downward parkour system that adds certain finesse to the act of shimming down a wall, resolving one of my big gripes with previous AC games. The disgruntled masses make it even more of a necessity to scurry along rooftops instead of the streets, and thankfully, this mode of transportation does not disappoint. As the story progressed, I found that the masses of Parisians mostly got in the way, and spotting repeating character models was a crude reminder I was playing a video game. ![]() In particular, a late-game mission involving Louis XVI was populated with several thousand characters, and wading through the crowd was one of the most memorable moments of the campaign.ĭespite being technologically impressive and adding a lot to the atmosphere of Paris as a living and thriving city, I found myself oftentimes swearing at the digital hoards that populated the streets when I simply wanted to make my way from one place to another. But what makes it really unique and distinct from past games is its citizens, who form some of the largest, most impressive crowds I've ever encountered. Each of the various districts unfolds with its own sense of character and environmental storytelling, from the ornate palaces of the privileged, to back-alleys running with the blood of the revolutionaries. ![]() Now, many of us know that tomatoes are loaded with lycopene, an essential phytonutrient – and here are some tomato health tidbits for you. To keep the dairy out, I made a rich and creamy cashew ricotta. The final result is, however, very much worth it. This is obviously intended for lovers of big classics like Fracas or Giorgio Beverly Hills, but the fruit focus, using the powerful flowers as a strong but hazy background structure, brings Carla Fracci squarely into this century, though this is definitely not a "fruity floral" in the immature, stupid way - those old-school flowers won't allow this to fall into that trap. For example, I often work with the fountain pen tool in a pen and ink style. However, for recreating other techniques, the brush size and opacity should remain constant. For example, someone trying to work in a watercolour style will be wanting to change brush size and opacity regularly. ![]() Now, I realise that, depending on what technique someone is using, they may wish to have this quick access to these settings. REQUEST: Please provide an option to lock a tool's settings so they cannot be accidentally changed. But I think it deserves its 'moment in the sun' by being given its own spot as a suggestion: I've mentioned this in passing, in another thread. Watercolor and Oil is one of the few things that I want sketchbook to do better or similar to Clip Studio And also that the brush starts and ends with low paint and a "tail"/narrower than the rest of the stroke. And it is one of the good point of Clip Studio. If you have any idea how to change the brush settings to get a similar result, i would happily listen and love it! I just want the same experience when i color on Sketchbook. Standard, Marker, Synthetic and Natural blend. Now, i have tried, several different settings and brush types. the colors and effects you can get by just doing some random lines and colors are fascinating! Sketchbook on the other hand is a realist and drags that color away with the brush and blends it. When you paint over a color with either watercolor or oil in Clip Studio, the color momentarily and then returns to original color. It is realistic, but not fun in the same kinda way. Sketchbooks synthetic paint, starts with a lot of paint and den drags it away. In Clip Studio, the brush starts of with a tiny "tail" and low on paint and end in the same manner unless you go nuts with your pen and tablet and really press down on it. It is so hard to describe but i'm going to try. I can't describe it in any good way except that Clip Studio's oil and watercolor brushes are and feel much better compared to Sketchbook's version of them. I have mentioned this before in the past long ago but I want stress it enough. I believe in the future for Sketchbook Pro. The programs I listed here all have that, maybe Procreate is the leader of the pack? The race is on. ![]() All are top UI design! A good graphic program must also have is a very good brush engine and all sorts of well designed brushes. The all are easy to use on the Surface or iPad (well, Procreate is iPad only.). Sketchbook got it, Fresco got it as well as Procreate (and Infinite Painter on Android, a favourite of mine). Sketchbook and Procreate be aware! For me a good painting, sketching and illustrating program must have a very good UI. Fresco will be a very good program and it is already good, one of the best there is actyally. Fresco is not yet fully developed, it is free to be used for six months, and during that time it will be adding all the missing things that Sketchbook Pro already have, plus some more, i guess.
